FAQs
What age can my dog start training?
Most dogs can begin structured training around 4–6 months old, depending on maturity and behavior. However, older dogs are absolutely trainable as well—many of our clients come to us with adult dogs who need behavior adjustments or advanced obedience work.
Can you help with aggressive or reactive dogs?
Yes. We work with reactive, anxious, and behaviorally challenging dogs. These cases require a structured evaluation so we can determine the right training approach. In some situations, management tools and step-by-step behavior modification plans are used to create safe and lasting improvement.
How long does training take?
It depends on the dog and the goals. Basic obedience improvements can often be seen quickly, while behavior modification and advanced training take longer. Consistency at home is one of the biggest factors in how fast results happen.
Do you offer training for multiple dogs in the same household?
Yes. Multi-dog households are very common, and we can train dogs together or individually depending on structure and behavior. We also offer tools and guidance for managing multiple dogs safely and effectively at home.
What areas do you serve?
We serve Greensboro, High Point, Oak Ridge, and surrounding areas in North Carolina. If you’re outside the immediate area, feel free to reach out—we may still be able to help or offer guidance.
What makes your training different?
We focus on clear communication, structure, and real-world reliability—not just “obedience in a training room.” Our goal is to help your dog understand expectations in everyday life, not just during sessions.
Do you offer specialized training?
Yes. In addition to obedience and behavior work, we can take on specialty training upon request, including:
- Detection training
- Tracking and trailing
- Search and rescue foundations
- Service dog development
What should I expect in the first session?
The first session is focused on evaluation and communication. We assess behavior, discuss goals, and begin building a clear training structure. You’ll leave with a better understanding of your dog and a plan moving forward.
Do you use e-collars in training?
Yes, when appropriate. We use e-collars as a communication tool, not a punishment tool. They allow clear, consistent communication at a distance and are introduced only after dogs understand foundational commands. Every dog is different, and we tailor the approach based on temperament, sensitivity, and training goals.
Is e-collar training safe for my dog?
When properly introduced and used correctly, e-collar training is safe. The stimulation is adjustable and designed to get your dog’s attention, not cause harm. We focus heavily on timing, clarity, and low-level communication so the dog understands exactly what is being asked.
